I know it’s been a bit quiet here, but in addition to lots of other stuff, I’ve been preparing for my class. It’s called Art Sampler: An introduction to printing on fabric. The class includes five-sessions from October 17 through November 14 and is offered through the University of Evansville (my alma mater) Continuing Learning Program.
We are going to start with leaf printing. I’ve preserved a whole bunch of leaves, so we’ll have plenty to print with.
Then we’ll move on to foam stamp making. We’ll paint and stamp on lots of fabric, but also small totes.
In the third session we’ll play with Gel Plates. This class is an introduction so we’ll just being doing some basic gel printing.
The fourth and fifth sessions will include additional techniques if we have time. At the end of the five-weeks, students will go home with their tote, lots of fabric, and several new skills. If this class sounds interesting to you, and you’d like to join in the fun, complete the registration here.
Meanwhile, I’ve been working on some fabric I dyed awhile ago. I’m kind of stuck which way to go with this now, so it’s sitting in my sewing area waiting for me to decide!
Lastly, I just have to tell you how much joy our new kitty Ally has brought us. She and Puddin still aren’t quite buddies, but they aren’t hissing anymore. And Puddin has become more active, joining in my playing with Ally.
Here they are in my studio.
And she’s afraid, but also fascinated with Roomba.
There is something about kittens that just makes me smile. They are so curious. So funny. After saying I never want another cat, I’ve found that I was wrong. I didn’t think I could ever love another animal again. She’s exactly what we and Puddin needed to heal from losing our sweet Ace.
