Playing with ice dyeing again

It’s been awhile since I’ve been ice dyeing so I thought it was time to get back to it. Here are just a few of my results.

The following was dyed using  Pro MX Fiber Reactive Dyes on a half yard of fabric: 1/2 teaspoon of Red 505, 1/4 teaspoon of Blue 402c, and a touch of Yellow 108.

This was another one done that day with 1/2 teaspoon of yellow 108 and 1/4 teaspoon of Blue 400.

That was kind of blah. I wanted more blue so the next day I over iced dyed it with the blue and got this. So much better! The fan-fold pattern was gone but the blue made the yellow really pop out and pushed the green back some.

I also ice dyed over one of my soy wax batik prints. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the original batik which was painted blue over writing. The background really adds to this piece, but it’s hard to see in the photo.

That was fun. I love playing with ice. And I’m gathering lots of fabric for my stash! If you’re new to my blog and interested in ice dyeing, check out this page with other posts about this fun dyeing technique.

Oh, and yesterday our first iris bloomed.

Oh, how I love spring. But with it comes lots of outdoor chores and I’ve yet to get the porch cleaned up so we can sit out there. That’s next on my list. Creating will have to wait a day or two.
