Last night was the fifth and final session of my Journal To The Self® class. This was the first time I’ve taught this basic introduction to journal writing class in many years. What a wonderful group of women and a man!
I’ve been asked many times over the years why would anyone need to take a journal writing class? Isn’t it just writing in a notebook? Well, yes and no. In this or other classes I’ve taught we do write in a notebook and we learn different writing exercises. But the best thing about this type of class is the sharing and the group dynamics.
I’ve taught a lot of online journaling classes over the years, but there is nothing like being in a group “live” with a bunch of interesting women (and men). Last night we all had a hard time leaving. Over the five weeks we had gotten to know each other and as with most of my classes, it was sad to see it end. We’ve taken this journey. Now it’s time for them to fly.
I’m sitting here reading their evaluations and so greatful to have had the opportunity to work with this group. I love to teach but it does take a toll on me. I’m always really tired the next day so luckily I’m able to take it easy today. I’m looking forward to more classes in the future.
Here are a few more of the dwarf irises that have bloomed this week. They are all no taller than 12 inches. These were all given to me last year from my master gardener friend, Kris. I never did plant them last Fall when she gave them to me since I didn’t have a place for them. The space is ready now and I’m just waiting for them to bloom in the pots before I move them.
Well, that’s all for now. My paints and paper are calling.
